Passenger Killed in Ector County Motorcycle Crash
Ector County, TX (September 15, 2026) — Early Sunday, 26-year-old Harris Mindi Lane died, and a motorcycle rider suffered severe injuries after a crash involving a Chevrolet Camaro in Ector County.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said the collision happened around 12:20 a.m. at Cottonwood Road and Lariat Trail in Gardendale. Investigators determined that a Camaro was traveling westbound on E. Cottonwood Road when its driver moved toward the outside lane to make a U-turn.
A Harley-Davidson motorcycle carrying a driver and passenger was traveling behind the Camaro. The motorcycle rider could not react in time and struck the Camaro’s rear left quarter panel.
Authorities identified the deceased passenger as Harris Mindi Lane, 26, of Burnet. She died at the scene. The motorcycle rider sustained severe injuries and was taken to Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. The Camaro driver suffered minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
