Woman Killed, Three Others Hurt in Head-On Crash on Route 21 in De Soto

De Soto, MO (October 03, 2025) — On Tuesday morning, a deadly head-on collision on Missouri Route 21, left one woman dead and three others injured.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a northbound 2012 Chrysler 200 crossed the center line near Liberty Ridge Road and crashed into a southbound 2020 Toyota Sienna around 11 a.m. The Chrysler’s driver, a 76-year-old woman from Carlyle, Illinois, was flown to a hospital, where she later died.

The Toyota’s driver, a 23-year-old woman from Barnhart, sustained serious injuries. Two passengers, a 29-year-old woman from Imperial and a 23-year-old woman from Arnold, suffered moderate and minor injuries, respectively. All three were taken to a hospital by ambulance.

Authorities confirmed that both drivers and all passengers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
