Injuries Reported in Joplin Auto Accident on West 7th and Schifferdecker Golf Course

JOPLIN, MO (August 5, 2026) – Monday night, a person was hospitalized after a startling head-on crash on West 7th and Schifferdecker Golf Course.

The incident happened at around 5:45 p.m. on West 7th alongside the Schifferdecker Golf Course.

Emergency crews from the Joplin Fire Department, Joplin Police Department, and METS Ambulance responded to a crash on West 7th Street.

According to reports, an eastbound tractor-trailer swerved to avoid a westbound passenger car in what was described as a near head-on collision. The truck left the north side of the roadway, broke through a cable barrier, and came to rest on the third fairway of Schifferdecker Golf Course. No golfers were injured.

The passenger car remained on West 7th Street with heavy damage. Three people were inside the vehicle, and one occupant was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The damaged passenger car and debris were removed by Rosenberg Towing and Recovery, while the tractor-trailer was able to continue under its own power.
