Authorities say that the suspected DUI crash happened at about 2:22 a.m. at 25323 Alessandro Boulevard

A high-speed crash involving a suspected DUI driver and a Riverside County Sheriff’s deputy occurred early Sunday morning in Moreno Valley.

At 2:22 a.m., emergency responders arrived at 25323 Alessandro Blvd. and found a severely damaged deputy’s vehicle and a black car that had crashed through a fence, landing in the shrubs of an apartment complex. One person was trapped inside the black car but was quickly extricated.

Paramedics transported the driver of the black car to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The deputy was evaluated at the scene but did not require hospitalization.

According to initial reports, the driver of the black car was speeding when they collided with the deputy’s vehicle, sending the car off the road.
