High-Speed Crash on Dakota Avenue Injures 2 [Fresno, CA]

Fresno, CA (April 11, 2026) — Early Friday morning, 2 people suffered life-threatening injuries after a high-speed crash on Dakota Avenue in Fresno involving a suspected impaired driver.

Around 12:18 a.m., police responded to a collision at Dakota and Chestnut Avenues. Officers arrived to find a devastating scene where one vehicle had slammed into a pole with such force that a woman in her 30s became trapped inside the wreckage. The violent impact also ejected a man in his 30s from the same vehicle.

Emergency crews rushed both victims to Community Regional Medical Center, where they remained in critical condition.

Investigators determined that a suspected DUI driver ran a red light at high speed before causing the crash. The driver’s vehicle continued into airport property after breaking through a fence. He also sustained critical injuries.
