Charges Filed Against Suspect in Phoenix Auto Accident at Terminal 3

PHOENIX, AZ (November 5, 2025) – Sunday, Ivan Correa was arrested after a high-speed police chase crash at Terminal 3.

The incident began at about 1:00 a.m., when one deputy conducted a holiday-weekend DUI enforcement on Loop 202 near Priest Drive in Tempe.

According to reports, a driver later identified as Ivan Correa was seen speeding at over 120 mph, prompting a high-speed pursuit through Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport as he tried to evade deputies.

Authorities said the chase was terminated due to the dangerous speeds, but Correa continued driving and eventually lost control at more than 90 mph, crashing into a barrier outside Terminal 3 near the ticketing and baggage check area. His vehicle caught fire after impact.

Bodycam footage shows deputies responding to the crash and taking several people into custody. During the arrest, one of the men alerted deputies that someone was still trapped in the burning car. Deputies, airport staff, and Phoenix police officers worked together to pull the person from the vehicle.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office praised Deputy Cosme for staying with the trapped person and helping ensure everyone was safely accounted for.
Authorities said all individuals involved are expected to make a full recovery. DUI charges against Correa are pending based on blood test results. It’s not yet clear what additional charges he or the passengers may face.
