Police Investigate Crash at Blanco Road and Loop 410 in Castle Hills
CASTLE HILLS, TX (April 22, 2026)— A hit-and-run driver struck a Castle Hills police patrol unit early Wednesday morning while officers searched for a vehicle possibly connected to recent burglary activity.
The crash happened around 3 a.m. at the intersection of Blanco Road and Northwest Loop 410.
Castle Hills police said officers were in the area looking for a suspect vehicle tied to recent burglaries when a black sedan entered the intersection.
Investigators said the sedan disregarded a traffic control device and struck the side of a marked patrol unit as the officer turned from Blanco Road onto the Northwest Loop 410 frontage road.
Police said the black sedan was not believed to be connected to the initial burglary-related search. After the collision, the driver fled the scene.
Emergency responders transported the officer to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials said the officer has since been released.
Authorities continue to search for both the driver connected to the initial burglary investigation and the hit-and-run driver who struck the patrol unit.

A hit-and-run crash can leave injured victims facing pain, confusion, and unanswered questions.
