Legal Support for Injured Pedestrians After a Hit-and-Run Crash

A hit-and-run crash involving pedestrians can leave victims feeling shocked, injured, and uncertain about what happens next.

When a driver leaves the scene after striking people in a crosswalk, the physical pain can be compounded by frustration and fear.

Sweet Lawyers sends sincere support to the two men injured in this Jefferson City collision and hopes they make a full and steady recovery.

Pedestrian crashes often cause serious harm, even when injuries are initially described as moderate. Victims may suffer head injuries, broken bones, back and neck trauma, knee and shoulder injuries, soft tissue damage, emotional distress, and pain that worsens after the initial shock fades.

Medical treatment, follow-up care, therapy, missed work, and transportation challenges can quickly become overwhelming.

Hit-and-run pedestrian cases require careful investigation. Important evidence may include police reports, witness statements, video footage, vehicle damage, traffic signal timing, crosswalk markings, driver behavior, medical records, and photos from the scene.

In this case, police reported that the suspected vehicle was located, which may help investigators determine what happened and whether the driver may be held accountable.

Injured pedestrians should be cautious when dealing with insurance companies. Early settlement offers may not reflect the full impact of the crash, especially if injuries require ongoing care.

A fair claim should consider medical expenses, lost income, pain, suffering, future treatment, and the long-term effects of the collision.

Sweet Lawyers has decades of experience helping injured pedestrians and hit-and-run victims after serious crashes.
