PHOENIX, AZ (September 6, 2026)— Police arrested a driver following a serious hit-and-run crash near 27th and Northern Avenues that left a man with life-threatening injuries in north Phoenix early September 11.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers responded around 1 a.m. to reports of a hit-and-run collision near 27th Avenue and Northern Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found an injured man lying in the roadway. Phoenix Fire Department crews provided emergency assistance before transporting the victim to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators determined that the vehicle involved in the collision had left the area before officers arrived. Police later located both the suspected vehicle and its driver. Officers subsequently took the driver into custody.
