Several Hurt After Hit-and-Run Crash in Kansas City
Kansas City, MO (September 29, 2025) — Early Sunday morning, multiple people suffered critical injuries in a hit-and-run crash near East 24th Street in Kansas City.
According to authorities, the crash happened shortly after 2 a.m. near East 24th Street and Jackson Avenue. Investigators said a gold sedan attempted to pass a white Dodge 1500 as it turned left, causing both vehicles to collide. The Dodge fled the scene, while the sedan slammed into a utility pole.
Emergency crews transported the sedan’s driver and rear passengers to the hospital with critical but stable injuries.
Police continue to search for the Dodge and its driver as the investigation moves forward.
Do The Right Thing. Stay. Help. Take Responsibility.
A hit-and-run is not just a crime, but a devastating act of cowardice leaving victims injured, scared, and sometimes fighting for their lives. If you’re involved in a traffic accident, stop immediately. Call 911. Help those who are hurt.
Remember that fleeing the scene only worsens the situation and carries serious legal consequences, including felony charges. Victims deserve accountability and justice.
Leaving the scene of a crash is a serious crime. Always stop and render aid if you are involved in an accident.
Steps to Take When You’ve Been in a Car Accident
If you get into a traffic accident, it can be a frightening situation and many people do not know what to do afterwards, which may have a big impact on your safety as well as your rights.
First, assess yourself and others for injuries. If anyone is hurt, call 911 immediately. If you can move your vehicle, do so in a safe location, and put on your hazard lights to warn other drivers. Exchange details with the other driver such as names, numbers, insurance company information, and license plate numbers. (And if there are witnesses nearby, try to get their information, too.)
Photograph the scene, damage to the vehicles and any injuries. If the damage appears to be minor, document everything anyway.
Then get medical care — even if you feel fine. Some injuries can have a delayed presentation. Lastly, reach out to a seasoned personal injury lawyer, such as the Sweet Lawyers. They’ll explain your legal rights and navigate the insurance claims process, so you can focus on what’s most important.
Those minutes after a crash are critical. Staying calm, acting swiftly and figuring out what kind of aid is available could help protect your health, your finances and your future.
