1 Suspect Arrested after San Ramon Fiery Accident near Gateway Shopping Center

SAN RAMON, CA (December 3, 2023) – Saturday night, a startling hit-and-run crash near Gateway Shopping Center injured 2 people.

The incident began with a brief police chase of a suspect vehicle from Bollinger to the Alcosta offramp. Then, the suspect vehicle collided with another car and caught fire. Meanwhile, the Gateway Shopping Center was locked down as an air and ground search of the area was conducted.

After the crash, the two men inside the suspect vehicle ran into the surrounding neighborhood.

San Ramon and Dublin police responded to the scene to help find the two black males.

Eventually, officers found a 20-year-old suspect hiding in the restroom of a Subway location. They took him into custody at 6:45 p.m. However, the second remains at large.

Moreover, the authorities haven’t clarified what the occupants were wanted for. However, it was confirmed that their vehicle triggered a license plate reader and inspired police interest in the car. Initially, the authorities ended their brief pursuit of the suspect vehicle, which reached speeds of 100mph before it crashed.

Also, the crash left two people with injuries, and were both transported to a local hospital for treatment.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
