ADAMS COUNTY, CO (September 6, 2026) – Monday night, a man died in a devastating hit-and-run crash near West 66th Avenue and Highway 287.

The incident occurred at around 9:16 p.m. near West 66th Avenue and Highway 287.

Troopers said the two men, ages 38 and 46, were walking across Federal Boulevard when they were hit by a truck that left the scene.

The 38-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. The 46-year-old was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Investigators later determined a white Ford F-150 was involved. The truck was found abandoned near Decatur Street, just south of West 67th Place.

CSP said investigators have identified a person of interest but have not yet made contact with them. The agency also corrected an earlier report that the victims had been riding a motorcycle, clarifying that they were walking when they were struck.
