79-Year-Old Woman Killed in Modesto Hit-and-Run; Suspect Arrested

Modesto, CA (April 10, 2026) — On Tuesday night, a 79-year-old woman from Modesto lost her life after a hit-and-run crash on Claribel Road.

The collision happened at the intersection with Langworth Road at around 9 p.m. when a passing vehicle struck the woman and left her on the north shoulder of the roadway. She suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene before authorities arrived.

Investigators later identified the suspect vehicle as a white Ford F-150 pickup truck, believed to have damage to its right front headlight, bumper, hood, and fender. Officers located the truck shortly after midnight, recovered it, and took it into evidence.

Authorities arrested a 19-year-old man from Riverbank in connection with the crash and booked him into Stanislaus County Jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run.

Officials continue to urge anyone with additional information about the incident to come forward as the investigation remains ongoing.
