Amarillo, TX (May 04, 2025) – A deadly hit-and-run crash on East Amarillo Boulevard early Saturday morning claimed the life of a 73-year-old man.

According to authorities, the fatal collision happened on East Amarillo Boulevard and North Johnson Street.

Reports say that the hit-and-run collision resulted in the death of a 73-year-old man.

Around East Amarillo Boulevard and North Johnson Street, officers from the Amarillo Police Department found the man lying in the roadway with injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle.

Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital, where he later died. Investigators determined that a dark-colored SUV hit the man while heading west on Amarillo Boulevard, then fled the scene without stopping or offering help.
