HARLINGEN, TX (January 1, 2026) – Tuesday night, a 77-year-old man died in a devastating hit-and-run crash on East Grimes Street and Ann Street.

The incident happened on East Grimes Street and Ann Street.

Police arrived at the scene and discovered a man lying in the roadway, believed to have been struck by a passing vehicle.

The victim had not yet been identified and was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities began investigating the incident to determine what type of vehicle was involved and to locate the driver responsible for the fatal hit-and-run.
