Police Investigate Hit-And-Run Crash on Normandie Avenue in Los Angeles

Los Angeles, CA (April 9, 2026) – Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who severely injured a motorcyclist after a crash on Normandie Avenue in South Los Angeles.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the crash happened around 6:50 a.m. on March 15 near Normandie Avenue and 48th Street in the Vermont Square neighborhood. 

Investigators said the suspect was driving a red, older-model Honda Odyssey minivan southbound on Normandie Avenue when the driver attempted a left turn and collided with a motorcyclist traveling northbound.

The impact threw the rider from the motorcycle and onto the roadway. 

Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital with severe injuries.

Police said the driver did not stop to check on the injured motorcyclist and instead fled the scene. 

Authorities last saw the suspect traveling eastbound on 48th Street toward Raymond Avenue.

LAPD reminded drivers that anyone involved in a collision must stop as soon as it is safe, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves. 

Investigators are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to the suspect’s identification and arrest.
