Hit-and-Run Crash on Redondo Avenue Kills Woman [Long Beach, CA]

Long Beach, CA (February 10, 2026) — on Saturday afternoon, a woman riding a bicycle lost her life after a hit-and-run crash on Redondo Avenue in Long Beach.

According to police, officers responded around 4:50 p.m. to the intersection of Redondo Avenue and East Second Street, where they found the bicyclist injured while a bystander attempted to help.

Paramedics transported her to a hospital, but she later died from her injuries.

Investigators said the bicyclist was traveling south on Redondo Avenue when she entered the intersection. At the same time, a gray Hyundai Sonata heading west on East Second Street reportedly entered the intersection at a high speed, failed to stop, and struck the cyclist. The driver then fled westbound without stopping.
