Man Killed in Suspected Hit-and-Run Crash on South Loop West in Houston

Houston, TX (September 12, 2026) — On Wednesday, Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash on South Loop West in Houston that killed a man.

Officers responded around 4:30 p.m. to the 3100 block of South Interstate Highway 610 West, where they found a deceased man on the shoulder. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Witnesses reported that a truck either struck the man or ejected him from the vehicle. The truck driver left the scene without stopping to provide aid.

Authorities have not released the victim’s identity, pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. Police are asking anyone with information about the truck or driver to contact the HPD Hit-and-Run Unit or Crime Stoppers.
