Driver Arrested After Hit-and-Run Leaves Woman Seriously Hurt in Houston
Houston, TX (September 25, 2025) — Police arrested a man early Thursday after a hit-and-run near Nagle Street in downtown Houston left a woman seriously injured and led to a second crash.
The Houston Police Department said the incident began around 3 a.m. when firefighters found a woman with severe head injuries lying in the roadway at Nagle and Dennis Streets.
Paramedics rushed her to a trauma center, though her current condition remains unknown.
While first responders were still at the scene, officers were called to another crash six blocks away. Investigators said a 2022 Mercedes plowed through a school property in Delano, knocking down a fence before becoming disabled. The driver fled on foot but was later arrested on Isabella Street.
Preliminary findings indicate the driver and the injured woman may have been together at a club prior to the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
Do The Right Thing. Stay. Help. Take Responsibility.
A hit-and-run is not just a crime, but a devastating act of cowardice leaving victims injured, scared, and sometimes fighting for their lives. If you’re involved in a traffic accident, stop immediately. Call 911. Help those who are hurt.
Remember that fleeing the scene only worsens the situation and carries serious legal consequences, including felony charges. Victims deserve accountability and justice.
If you are ever involved in a crash, stay at the scene and call for help. Leaving can turn a serious situation into something far worse—for everyone involved.
Steps to Take When You’ve Been in a Car Accident
If you get into a traffic accident, it can be a frightening situation and many people do not know what to do afterwards, which may have a big impact on your safety as well as your rights.
First, assess yourself and others for injuries. If anyone is hurt, call 911 immediately. If you can move your vehicle, do so in a safe location, and put on your hazard lights to warn other drivers. Exchange details with the other driver such as names, numbers, insurance company information, and license plate numbers. (And if there are witnesses nearby, try to get their information, too.)
Photograph the scene, damage to the vehicles and any injuries. If the damage appears to be minor, document everything anyway.
Then get medical care — even if you feel fine. Some injuries can have a delayed presentation. Lastly, reach out to a seasoned personal injury lawyer, such as the Sweet Lawyers. They’ll explain your legal rights and navigate the insurance claims process, so you can focus on what’s most important.
Those minutes after a crash are critical. Staying calm, acting swiftly and figuring out what kind of aid is available could help protect your health, your finances and your future.
