Driver Misses Stop Sign, Dies in Porterville Collision

Porterville, CA (April 22, 2026) – Two Honda passengers, a 19 and a 24-year-old men, both from Porterville, were injured in a Highway 190 deadly crash early Sunday morning.

The deadly solo-vehicle crash happened before 6 p.m. on Westwood Street.

According to the accident report, a 29-year-old Porterville man was driving a southbound Honda Accord on Westwood Street at an unknown speed.

Investigators said that the driver failed to stop at the posted stop sign at the intersection with Highway 190 and crashed head-on into a concrete K-rail in a construction site.

Rescuers declared the Honda driver deceased at the scene.

Moreover, the Honda’s passengers, the 24-year-old Porterville man at the front seat and a 19-year-old Porterville man at the back seat, sustained major injuries.

The medical team rushed the passengers to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia.

Police said alcohol and/or drugs were possibly a factor in the deadly crash.
