1 Dead in Los Banos Auto Accident on State Route 165 and Cotton Gin Road

LOS BANOS, CA (December 1, 2025) – Saturday afternoon, a driver died in a horrific 2-vehicle crash on State Route 165 and Cotton Gin Road.

The incident happened at about 3:30 p.m. when a 2021 Toyota Camry traveled north on State Route 165, south of Cotton Gin Road. Then, it crossed over into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a Toyota Camry. Then, the blue Camry struck a guardrail.

CHP said the driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, died at the scene. The four people in the black Sienna had injuries ranging from minor to serious.

Investigators do not believe alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The driver’s name has not been released yet, as officials are still notifying family members.
