Horrific 4-Car Collision on Ruddell Road Injures 11 [Lacey, WA]

Lacey, WA (June 09, 2025) – A fiery 4-car collision on Ruddell Road Southeast left 11 people hurt.

According to authorities, the shocking collision happened around 3:15 p.m. near 14th Avenue Southeast.

Reports say that a 19-year-old driver from Tacoma caused the four-vehicle crash in Lacey on Saturday afternoon after fleeing from police.

Officials say that the incident began when a Lacey officer spotted a 2014 Dodge Charger driving recklessly on College Street Southeast. When the officer attempted a traffic stop, the driver sped away, turning onto 14th Avenue Southeast and then onto Ruddell Road Southeast.

The Charger crashed into multiple vehicles, igniting a fire. In total, 11 people sustained injuries. Emergency responders transported five individuals—ranging in age from 16 to 67—to the hospital with injuries ranging from minor to serious, including broken bones. The teen driver was also injured and remains in custody.

Authorities have arrested the teen for vehicular assault, and additional charges are expected as the investigation continues. The crash shut down Ruddell Road for nearly four hours.
