1 Dead and 1 Injured in Lakeside Auto Accident on Serena Road and Serena Lane

LAKESIDE, CA (July 12, 2023) – Sunday night, a horrific ATV crash on Serena Road and Serena Lane killed 1 person.

According to CHP Officer Jared Grieshaber, the incident occurred at around 7:30 p.m. on Serena Road, west of Serena Lane.

Grieshaber added that a 63-year-old man drove a 1985 red Honda 250SX all-terrain cycle east on Serena Road, west of Serena Lane.

Then, as he approached a right curve, he lost control until the three-wheeler left the road. Meanwhile, the impact ejected both the driver and the 2-year-old passenger.

Officers confirmed that both the driver and the child failed to wear a helmet.

As a result, the driver from Lakeside succumbed to injuries at the scene. His identity remained undisclosed due to pending family notification.

Meanwhile, the toddler, also from Lakeside, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Rady Children’s Hospital.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
