ALBUQUERQUE, NM (January 20, 2025) – Sunday afternoon, a person died in a horrific bicycle crash near 3520 Kathryn Avenue SE.

The incident happened at about 4:05 p.m. near the 3520 Kathryn Avenue SE, near Carlisle Boulevard.

Officers confirmed that the incident involved a bicycle and a vehicle.

Upon officers’ arrival, they located one individual who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Also, the authorities shut down Kathryn Avenue, between Amherst and Carlisle.

The Austin Police Department’s Fatal Traffic Unit, consisting of sworn and civilian investigators, has been called to investigate this deadly crash.

Witnesses reported spotting a white pickup truck with significant damage on its right side fleeing the scene.
