Horrific Collision on Highway 68 Injures 3 People [Salinas, CA]

Salinas, CA (May 18, 2025) — Three people sustained injuries Friday morning following a collision on Highway 68 south of Salinas in Monterey County.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 45-year-old Carmel resident was driving a Dodge pickup westbound on Highway 68 when the vehicle collided with a silver pickup truck near the intersection of Torero Drive.

Authorities said the circumstances leading up to the collision remain under investigation.

Two occupants in the Dodge pickup suffered minor injuries. An 88-year-old Salinas man involved in the crash sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

CHP continues to investigate the incident.
