Boone County, MO (June 5, 2025) — On Wednesday evening, a 17-year-old Columbia girl sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle collision on Route Z.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 7:10 p.m. on Route Z. Investigators said a 21-year-old woman from New Bloomfield was driving a 2022 Toyota Corolla eastbound when she attempted a left turn and failed to yield the right of way.

The Toyota struck the left side of a 2006 Hyundai Sonata driven by the Columbia teenager, causing significant injuries to the young driver. Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
