CONTRA COSTA, CA (February 8, 2026) – Friday afternoon, a horrific garbage truck crash on Highway 4 and San Marco Boulevard killed one person.

The incident happened at around 2:30 p.m. on the westbound Highway 4 and San Marco Boulevard.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a garbage truck struck a pedestrian for still unknown reasons.

Moreover, authorities confirmed that the pedestrian died in the crash.

Furthermore, the incident closed the numbered 3 and 4 lanes of Highway 4.
