1 Dead in Sacramento Pedestrian Accident on 3400 Ramona Avenue

SACRAMENTO, CA (July 1, 2026) – Last June 23rd, a horrific hit-and-run crash on 3400 Ramona Avenue led to the death of Kirubel Gebretsadik, a week later.

The incident happened just after 7:45 a.m. in the 3400 block of Ramona Avenue.

Officers found the man with life-threatening injuries, and he was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver fled the scene before police arrived, and the vehicle was later found abandoned.

The victim was identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as Kirubel Gebretsadik. Authorities said he died from blunt force injuries to the head.

The department’s Major Collision Investigation Unit is leading the investigation, and the circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
