LOS ANGELES, CA (March 29, 2026) – Early Friday morning, a person died in a horrific hit-and-run crash on Leeward Avenue and South Vermont Avenue.

The incident shortly before 4:00 a.m. at the intersection of Leeward Avenue and South Vermont Avenue, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Witnesses told investigators a white Dodge Charger struck a man as he was crossing the street.

The victim, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the driver fled northbound on Vermont Avenue and did not stop to help. No description of the suspect was immediately available, and the investigation remains ongoing.
