1 Dead in San Antonio Auto Accident on West Travis Street and 24th Street

SAN ANTONIO, TX (March 9, 2025) – Saturday morning, a person died in a horrific hit-and-run crash on West Travis Street and 24th Street.

The incident happened at about 12:38 a.m. at the intersection of West Travis Street and Northwest 24th Street.

Police say a Chevrolet Silverado ran a stop sign at 24th and Travis, colliding with a Nissan Sentra.

A 23-year-old passenger in the Nissan was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

Both drivers fled on foot. Officers caught the Silverado’s driver, a 27-year-old man, a few blocks away. He showed signs of intoxication and was arrested.

He was taken to a hospital with minor injuries and will be booked for intoxication manslaughter and collision involving death once released.

Police say the Nissan’s driver will face the same charge when found. The investigation is ongoing.
