1 Person Killed in Horrific Hit-and-Run Crash on York Street

1 Dead in Denver Pedestrian Accident on York Street and Gaylord Street

DENVER, CO (July 19, 2026) – Last July 10th, a person died in a horrific hit-and-run crash on York Street and Gaylord Street.

The incident happened at about 10:00 a.m. when a hit-and-run vehicle struck a person in an alleyway on York Street and Gaylord Street.

Police are searching for the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run that claimed the life of a pedestrian.

Investigators said the driver was traveling eastbound on East Colfax Avenue when the vehicle turned right into an alley and struck the victim. The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and later died.

Police believe the suspect vehicle is a white 1990s or early 2000s Ford SUV. Investigators said it is unlikely the vehicle sustained damage in the collision.

The driver fled the scene after the crash.
