1 Dead in Citrus Heights Scooter Accident on Sylvan Road and Greenback Lane

CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (May 31, 2026) – Saturday morning, a person died in a horrific motorized scooter crash on Sylvan Road and Greenback Lane.

The incident happened at about 9:20 p.m. on Sylvan Road, north of Greenback Lane.

Multiple people called 911 to report the crash, according to police. When officers arrived, they found the scooter rider lying in the roadway with significant injuries. Despite lifesaving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision.

Police also said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Southbound lanes of Sylvan Road between Stock Ranch Road and Greenback Lane remain closed while investigators process the scene.
