Deadly Apple Valley Multi-Vehicle Accident on Highway 18 near Mandan Road

APPLE VALLEY, CA (March 9, 2026) – Saturday night, a horrific multi-vehicle crash on Highway 18 near Mandan Road led to fatality.

The incident happened at around 9:40 p.m. on Highway 18 near Mandan Road.

Emergency crews responded to reports of a multi-vehicle crash along the highway.

Authorities said the collision involved at least three vehicles: a gray sedan with heavy front-end damage, a white SUV with similar damage, and a white pickup truck that was severely mangled.

Officials initially reported that one person in the pickup truck suffered serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. The sheriff’s media logs later classified the incident as a fatal traffic collision investigation.

The identity of the deceased had not been released.

Eastbound lanes of Highway 18 were expected to remain closed for about three hours while investigators examined the scene and crews cleared the roadway. It was not known if others were transported from the crash site.

The cause of the collision remained under investigation.
