The incident occurred at about 9:30 a.m. in the 10000 block of US Highway 87 westbound.

Authorities confirmed one fatality and several injuries following a crash on U.S. Highway 87, according to the sheriff’s office.

The westbound lanes were temporarily closed but have since reopened. The Texas Department of Public Safety is leading the investigation, and the identity of the person killed has not yet been released.
