1 Dead in North Sacramento Pedestrian Accident in Hagginwood

NORTH SACRAMENTO, CA (November 5, 2025) – Sunday night, a horrific pedestrian crash in Hagginwood killed 1 person.

The incident happened just before 6:30 p.m. in Hagginwood.

Sacramento police said officers arrived to find a pedestrian lying in the roadway. The person was pronounced dead at the scene, according to department spokesperson Officer Allison Smith.

Police initially reported that two vehicles had struck the pedestrian, with one fleeing the area. After further investigation, detectives determined the pedestrian was hit by only one vehicle, and that driver remained on scene and cooperated with investigators.

The department’s Major Collision Investigation Unit is reviewing video footage and continuing to look into whether a second vehicle was involved. Police said impairment is not suspected on the part of the driver who struck the pedestrian.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity once the next of kin have been notified.
