PHOENIX, AZ (December 28, 2025) – Friday night, a man died in a horrific pedestrian crash on 36th Avenue and Northern Avenue.

The incident happened just before 11:00 p.m. on 36th Avenue and Northern Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found a man with serious injuries and identified the driver involved, according to Phoenix police. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives believe the victim was crossing Northern Avenue outside of a crosswalk when he was struck. Investigators also suspect the driver was impaired.

Police detained the driver and processed him for DUI.
