SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA (October 9, 2023) – Saturday night, a horrific pedestrian crash on 5 Freeway near Camino Capistrano killed one person.

The incident happened at around 7:42 p.m. on the San Diego 5 Freeway, just south of Camino Capistrano.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a white Nissan pickup truck and a gold Toyota sedan collided for still unknown reasons.

As a result, authorities confirmed that a 19-year-old died in the crash.

Moreover, officers diverted southbound traffic at Camino Capistrano.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
