EL CAJON, CA (August 18, 2025) – Sunday morning, a horrific pedestrian crash on Chase Avenue and Avocado Avenue killed one person.

The incident happened at around 1:00 a.m. near the intersection of Chase and Avocado avenues.

According to reports, a vehicle struck a pedestrian and then crashed into a fire hydrant and power pole.

Moreover, responders pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.

Furthermore, officers managed to locate and arrest the hit-and-run driver who displayed signs of intoxication.
