Healdsburg, CA (May 23, 2025) – A horrific pedestrian crash on Highway 101 left a man dead Thursday afternoon.

According to the California Highway Patrol Santa Rosa Area office, the fatal collision happened at about 2:33 p.m. on southbound Highway 101.

Reports say that a pickup truck fatally struck a man walking along US Highway 101.

CHP responded to the scene, just south of Westside Road.

Preliminary findings indicate the man had been walking on the right shoulder before stepping into traffic, where a Ford F-150 hit him.

Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. The driver of the truck remained on-site and cooperated with the investigation. Authorities closed the Number 2 Lane temporarily, reopening both lanes by 4:40 p.m.

No additional injuries occurred, and CHP continues to investigate the cause of the incident.
