BENICIA, CA (December 11, 2025) – Tuesday night, a horrific pedestrian crash on Highway 780 killed 1 person.

The incident happened at around 6:00 p.m. when a pedestrian walked on the lanes of Highway 780.

The pedestrian was struck by a vehicle around 6:15 p.m., according to the CHP. Authorities said the victim was a man. Investigators are still looking into what caused the crash and why he was walking on the highway.

CHP closed the eastbound Highway 780 between Military West and Southampton Road. Drivers should expect delays of at least two hours.
