SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA (May 6, 2026) – Early Tuesday morning, a horrific pedestrian crash on Interstate 5 near Peltier Road killed 1 person.

The incident happened on northbound Interstate 5 near Peltier Road, said the California Highway Patrol.

The California Highway Patrol said a person had pulled over to the side of the road to check their truck when they were struck by a semi-truck.

Authorities said lanes were temporarily blocked following the incident, but have since reopened.
