BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 31, 2024) – Friday night, a horrific pedestrian crash on Roberts Lane near Brandon Way killed one person.

The incident happened at around 10:53 p.m. on Roberts Lane, south of Brandon Way.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle struck a 51-year-old male pedestrian who was walking across the roadway outside a marked crosswalk.

Moreover, authorities confirmed that the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Furthermore, authorities reported that the driver of the vehicle fled the scene without stopping to provide aid.
