Horrific Traffic Crash on Highway 65 Kills 84-Year-Old Woman [Saline County, MO]

Saline County, MO (July 5, 2025) On Thursday morning, a horrific traffic crash on Highway 65 left an 84-year-old Slater woman dead.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened at the junction of Highway 65 and Business 65.

Authorities say that the woman was driving a 2020 Dodge Caravan southbound on Business 65 when she entered the path of a northbound 2015 Kenworth tractor-trailer, driven by a 32-year-old man from New Franklin. The truck struck the driver’s side of the Dodge.

The impact caused the Dodge to veer off the road and come to rest in the median, while the Kenworth crossed the southbound lanes and stopped off the west side of the roadway.

Emergency crews airlifted both the woman and her 85-year-old male passenger to University Hospital. The woman succumbed to her injuries, while the man sustained moderate injuries. The Kenworth driver was not hurt.

Authorities confirmed all occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision. The Dodge was declared totaled; the Kenworth sustained moderate damage.
