1 Dead in Adelanto Fiery Accident on US Highway 395

ADELANTO, CA (December 29, 2025) – Sunday afternoon, a person died in a horrific two-vehicle crash on US Highway 395.

The incident involving two vehicles happened on US Highway 395 near Adelanto.

According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, crews responded to a traffic collision involving fire and multiple injuries. Firefighters arrived to find a Land Rover SUV fully engulfed in flames and immediately began fire suppression and medical treatment.

Witnesses said two good Samaritans stopped before first responders arrived and helped pull a man from the burning vehicle.

Six patients were involved in the crash. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others suffered critical injuries and were classified as “immediate” patients, while three additional people sustained less severe injuries and were classified as “delayed.”

Two medical helicopters transported the critically injured patients to area trauma centers. The response included three fire engines, two air medical units, a battalion chief, and three ground ambulances.

The crash occurred around 12:11 p.m. on southbound Highway 395, just south of Shadow Mountain Road. A SigAlert was issued at 1:04 p.m. for both northbound and southbound lanes, with the closure expected to last at least an hour.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash. No additional details were immediately available.
