1 Person Dead in Lemon Grove Auto Accident near State Route 94 and State Route 125

LEMON GROVE, CA (July 1, 2025) – Monday night, a horrific wrong-way crash near State Route 94 and State Route 125 killed one person.

The incident happened at around 8:00 p.m. near State Route 94 and State Route 125.

According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, a westbound Chevrolet Silverado traveling in the eastbound lanes collided with an eastbound Ford Explorer. 

Moreover, responders rushed the driver of the Explorer and one of its passengers to a hospital, where the passenger was later pronounced dead.

Furthermore, officers arrested the driver of the Chevrolet, who was emitting a strong odor of alcohol, on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and driving while intoxicated.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified. 

Due to limited information, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office continued investigating the crash.
