SAN RAFAEL, CA (April 23, 2023) – Saturday morning, a horrific wrong-way crash on Highway 101 near Interstate 580 killed 1 person.

The incident happened at around 3:30 a.m. on Highway 101 near Interstate 580.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a northbound red 2018 Nissan pickup truck traveling in the southbound lanes collided head-on with a black 2011 BMW.

Moreover, responders pronounced the 22-year-old driver of the Nissan dead at the scene. Then, paramedics rushed the 30-year-old driver of the BMW to Marin General Hospital with major injuries.
