Man Airlifted After Highway 262 Crash in Grant County

Grant County, WA (November 7, 2025) — 55-year-old Hugo Verduzco of Royal City was hospitalized Thursday morning following a crash on Highway 262 SE in Grant County.

According to the Washington State Patrol, that Verduzco was driving a piece of farm equipment eastbound just before 9 a.m. when a truck traveling in the same direction rear-ended him. The impact caused the farm vehicle to overturn.

Emergency responders airlifted the injured driver to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities identified the truck driver as 55-year-old Michael J. Richards of Othello, who now faces a charge of negligent driving in the second degree.
