23-Year-Old Imari Pritchett Dies in DUI Hit-And-Run Crash on Loop 202 Santan Freeway in Chandler

Chandler, AZ (June 20, 2022) – Early Monday morning, 23-year-old Imari Pritchett died in a hit-and-run crash on Loop 202 Santan Freeway.

Subsequently, police arrested the 36-year-old man from Chandler for DUI and leaving the scene of a fatal collision.

Reportedly, Pritchett’s SUV crashed into a wall on the eastbound side of the Loop 202 Santan Freeway, near Price Road.

An off-duty police officer told Pichett to stay in her car, but she got out and crossed the freeway. It was when a 2015 Subaru Outback hit her in the HOV lane.

The victim died at the crash scene.

Moreover, DPS said the man initially stopped and called 911, told the operator he had struck something, but then drove off.

He was later arrested at his home in Chandler. More charges are pending.

Further investigation is ongoing.
