Victorville, CA (July 3, 2025) – Police are investigating an accident on Seneca Road involving a mother and her children.
Authorities reported that an infant sustained head injuries and was airlifted to the hospital after a mother allowed her 12-year-old child to drive a vehicle in an apartment complex parking lot.
The incident occurred around 3:41 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the Rancho Seneca Apartment complex located in the 14700 block of Seneca Road.
Deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian.
During their investigation, deputies discovered that the mother had instructed her 12-year-old child to move a vehicle within the parking lot while she stood nearby holding her infant.
As the vehicle moved, its door struck the mother, causing her to fall and drop the infant.
The baby suffered head trauma and was flown to Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment.
Sheriff’s officials confirmed that they are investigating the case as a violation of Penal Code 273(a), which involves cruelty to a child. The investigation remains active.
