Police Investigate Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 5 in Glenn County

GLENN COUNTY, CA (June 8, 20026)— A passenger suffered major injuries Monday morning after a motorcycle crash on Interstate 5 near County Road 7.

According to the California Highway Patrol Willows Division, the crash happened on June 8, 2026, and involved a motorcyclist and a passenger.

CHP said the motorcyclist told officers he lost control of the motorcycle after a tire blew out.

Emergency crews responded to the scene, and authorities temporarily closed a lane of northbound I-5 near County Road 7 while they assisted the injured and cleared the roadway.

The passenger suffered major but non-life-threatening injuries. Emergency responders transported the passenger to Enloe Medical Center for treatment.

The motorcycle driver appeared to suffer only minor road rash injuries.

CHP Willows noted that tire failures can become more common during summer months, especially in warm areas such as Glenn County.

Officials reminded drivers and riders to inspect tires regularly and replace aging tires as needed.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash.

Injured in a Glenn County Motorcycle Crash? Sweet Lawyers Can Help

Motorcycle crashes can cause serious injuries even when they happen without another vehicle involved.

Riders and passengers have little protection from the force of a fall, roadway impact, or loss of control. When a tire blowout leads to a crash, injured victims may face hospitalization, pain, rehabilitation, missed work, and difficult questions about insurance coverage and responsibility.

At Sweet Lawyers, we understand how overwhelming a serious motorcycle crash can be. Passengers, in particular, may suffer injuries through no fault of their own and may need help understanding their legal options.

Major injuries can require emergency care, follow-up treatment, physical therapy, medication, and long-term support. Even injuries described as non-life-threatening can still disrupt a person’s health, finances, and daily life.

A motorcycle tire failure crash requires careful investigation.

Important evidence may include the CHP report, motorcycle damage, tire condition, maintenance history, tire age, service records, roadway conditions, weather, speed, witness statements, medical records, and any available dash camera or traffic footage.

Investigators may also review whether the tire was defective, improperly maintained, underinflated, overloaded, or too old for safe use.

Insurance companies may try to minimize claims or argue that a crash was unavoidable. However, injured passengers and riders should understand the full extent of their injuries before accepting any settlement.

A personal injury claim may help pursue compensation for medical expenses, future treatment, lost income, pain and suffering, rehabilitation, and other crash-related losses.

Sweet Lawyers helps injured motorcycle accident victims move forward with compassion, clarity, and trusted advocacy.

Our team can review available evidence, communicate with insurance companies, and explain your options.
